  1. Once Upon A Dream

    Mary Costa and Bill Shirley

I never said these selections would be current. This song, from Sleeping Beauty, makes me want to learn to waltz. And then waltz to this. At my wedding.

  2. Wedding Dress

    Samamidon

I’ve been thinking about marriage a lot over the past year, which is laughable given my relationship history, I know. I listen to this song all the time. It started because I was entranced by the instrumentation (the trills!) but then I got on this kick and it kind of became my anthem.

  3. Sleep Tonight

    Stars

Stars always choke me up, and I always associate choking up with romance. Which is telling, maybe.

  4. Summer Love

    Justin Timberlake

Late Summer is probably one of the best times of the year. It’s a transition, which is always exciting, and more importantly it’s a transition into Autumn, the best season. Plus, Timberlake gets the marriage thing.

  5. Must Be Love

    Cassie feat. P. Diddy

I featured this song in another mix very recently but it works too well here to skip. The sound is so sensual and enveloping. The lyrics are, too.

  6. Hotel

    Broken Social Scene

It took me a long while to realize how sexy this song is.

  7. In The New

    Reverie Sound Revue

It took me a long while to realize how adorable this song is. Adults sincerely using the word “like” like “like like” is a great thing. Innocent romance is my favorite kind.

  8. Someone To Watch Over Me

    Chet Baker

I’ve adored this song for as long as I’ve known it existed and there is a specific reason but I can’t figure out exactly why, nor which performance it was that I first heard. I think that elusion might help the infatuation. It wouldn’t be the first time.
